I’m going to Charleston SC for a visit this April and need help knowing where to go?
I plan on moving there this summer but I have never been there. My visit to find the best area for my family and I to live, set up job intreviews, find a house for rent but we only have two days I want to get done as much possible. If you know the area please help.
Your best bet in looking for a job in charleston is to go to www.charleston.net and go to the classifieds section you can sign up and post a resume and cover letter and they will email you daily w/jobs that are available in your field. It’s a great website that is how I found my job. Also depending on how much you want to spend and if you want a townhome/condo/house…but here are some good nice areas with a low crime rate.
West Ashley (neighborhoods that are gated community type areas – Grand Oaks/ShadowMoss/Green Village)
Downtown (is very pricey I mean in the high 6 figures to millions but if you want to spend that much look at south of broad or the battery or Harleston Village or Ansonborough)
Mt. Pleasant (pretty much anywhere if you want close to the city I would stay away from the Dunes area and try and get in by Sullivans Island (its right by the beach) and the neighborhoods right across the bridge)
Summerville (about 35 minutes from downtown nice suburban town alot cheaper than living close to the city)
Moncks Corner and GooseCreek (kind of the “boonies” seems to have alot of redneck type people living there)
If you do happen to have time to do tourist stuff definily go downtown hit up the resturants and the market there is so much to do downtown if you just walk around you will find so much you can also take a horse and carage tour of the city or if you want to get from one place to the next quickly hope into a pedi-cab and avoid the traffic…there is so much to do and so many amazing places to eat your best bet and what I recommend is to just go downtown and start walking around and you will find things that you are interested in….
