Business Ethics and integraty?

I worked for a Fortune 500 company, and for over ten years. In August 2008, was fired form the company because of some personal issues that I was in my life that caused me to miss some time at work. The problem I have is with the If I lied and said that I have a substance abuse problem, it is a question no one would have been, 30 days in rehab was hit on the wrist. But instead I have spoken the truth and I was released. Where's the ethics in this situation about my job, I had to compromise my ethics would hold. In 2009 I left the town where I lived for 12 years, and I went to Charleston SC to work, work 7 days a week, sometimes 70 to 80 hours per week. Never had a problem with my new employer. I enjoyed my job and the people I worked for and with. The company, which I worked for was bought by my employer and former employer I was fired because the old situation I had with mine. The question that I ask you, is the ethical acceptable?

Ethics is not playing a role here. The company felt disturb your personal problems with your work and it cost them more money they made them (regardless of how you felt). A Fortune 500 company (I will guess is public) has no ethical obligation, do not hold more than one ethical obligation to hire you are involved in the first place. In my job if a client is terminated because of the actions of an employee, you will be immediately terminated. It does No matter what you did or how many customers you have made happy - it takes one to leave and leave your name - and you are gone. Is that unethical? Well no - that's Business -. Unethical would be if your boss did the same thing you did and got away with it, but if you did - you were laid off thing. You have the right of honest - and this reflects your own moral character. But no good deed goes unpunished (as the saying goes), and during that you bolted to your old job - an ethical and honest employees is always better than the liars and cheats.
